Free Online Tools

5 min read Updated Jun 24, 2026

Uptimia offers a set of free online tools on the public website. You can use them right from your browser without signing in or creating an account. They're handy for quick calculations and conversions, and for getting a feel for the kind of numbers Uptimia works with every day.

You can browse all of them from the free tools index at /tools, which groups them into several categories. Each tool lives on its own page:

The free tools index page at /tools showing six category groups — Calculator Tools, Website Tools (including the Website Availability Test), Cron Tools, Color Tools, Converter Tools and Math Tools
  • Calculator Tools — an uptime calculator at /uptime-calculator, a downtime calculator at /downtime-calculator, and an SLA calculator at /sla-calculator.
  • Website Tools — a Website Availability Test at /website-availability-test that runs a one-off reachability check of any URL from 30+ locations worldwide.
  • Cron Tools — a cron expression generator at /cron-expression-generator, plus a cron expression translator and a page of cron expression examples.
  • Color Tools — color converters between HEX and RGB (for example /hex-to-rgb or /rgb-to-hex).
  • Converter Tools — format converters for HTML, Markdown, CSV, JSON, XML and plain text (for example /json-to-csv or /html-to-markdown).
  • Math Tools — number-base converters between binary, octal, decimal and hexadecimal (for example /hex-to-octal or /binary-to-octal).

The tools are available in multiple languages, so the labels and instructions appear in your selected site language.

Uptime, Downtime and SLA Calculators

The uptime and SLA calculators work the same way: you enter an availability percentage — for example a "three nines" (99.9%) or "four nines" (99.99%) target — and the tool works out how much downtime that allows across several periods (daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly and yearly), along with the corresponding uptime duration for each.

This is useful when you want to translate a percentage figure into real-world time. Read the result as the amount of downtime a service can have, or the time it stays available, over the period you're measuring. The downtime calculator covers the same ground with downtime front and center.

Use these to sanity-check whether an availability target is realistic — to see how much outage a "three nines" or "four nines" commitment actually permits — before you commit to one in a contract.

Website Availability Test

The Website Availability Test at /website-availability-test performs an on-demand reachability check of any URL from 30+ checkpoints around the world, then reports back whether the site is reachable from each location. It's the closest free analog to Uptimia's continuous monitoring — a single point-in-time check rather than ongoing, scheduled monitoring — so it's a quick way to spot whether a site is up or down from different parts of the globe right now.

Cron Tools

The cron expression generator helps you build cron expressions. Instead of writing the schedule syntax by hand, you describe the timing you want and the tool produces the matching cron expression. There's also a cron expression translator that goes the other way — turning an existing expression into a plain-language description — and a page of ready-made cron expression examples.

The generator is designed to produce valid cron expressions, so you can copy the result into a scheduler with confidence that the syntax is well-formed. Always double-check that the schedule it produces matches the timing you intended before relying on it in a live system.

Color, Converter and Math Tools

These tools handle conversions between data formats, colors and number representations. The Converter Tools move between HTML, Markdown, CSV, JSON, XML and plain text; the Color Tools translate between HEX and RGB; and the Math Tools move between binary, octal, decimal and hexadecimal.

Each converter has its own page. Paste or type your value into the input, run the conversion, and read the converted result in the output.

Accuracy Caveats

These tools are provided for convenience and quick estimates. A few things to keep in mind:

  • Results reflect only the values you type in. Double-check your inputs — the availability percentage, the period, and the value you're converting — so the output matches what you mean to calculate.
  • The uptime, downtime and SLA calculators give point-in-time estimates from the numbers you supply. They don't pull from any live monitoring data.
  • The Website Availability Test is a one-off, on-demand reachability check from 30+ locations — a starting point, not a substitute for ongoing monitoring. For real, continuously measured uptime and SLA reporting on your own websites, you'll want Uptimia's monitoring rather than a single check or a one-off calculation.
  • Always verify a generated cron expression against your intended schedule before putting it into production.

If you'd like to move from quick calculations to ongoing, automated uptime monitoring, you can do that from your Uptimia account. If something in the tools doesn't behave as you'd expect, reach out to support.
